Gloves, anyone?

i had one of those grippy allstar ones but mine started getting holes in it so i wear a batting glove under my fencing glove. i like the feel of it and i get more control(maybe i should consider a smaller handle size?) but is this batting glove-under-fencing glove thing legit?

I see notihng wrong with it....it doesn't give you a competitive advantage...you might be better off with a better fitting fencing glove, tho...

More protection is always okay. The only problems you might have with the rules are that a ref could card and make you change your "outer" glove if it has a hole in it. I was surprised that they actually had us submit our gloves at this years Vet World Championships to check for holes. This is either extreme or overdue, depending on your commiment to safety. Anyway, if you wear an underglove and a fencing glove over it that does not have holes in it, you will always be okay. I think I'm going to try that at training next time, as my fencing hand gets beat up on a regular basis. I'm also looking forward to trying one of "Purples" gloves. Hope they are at the Raleigh NAC in December.

Hmmm.....if F.Net's goign to have a booth they should be.

The checking for holes at Vet Worlds may be a reaction to teh injuries through the glove at Jr Worlds. FIE's starting to think about manufacturiung standards now, as well...due to those same injuries.

Yeah, I sent you a private message a week or so ago. The name was "GRIPS". I looked as recently as yesterday at a Home Depot and they did not have them. I asked the associate in the department where the gloves are and he knew exactly what I was talking about but, they did not have them, nor did they know if they were getting more. Also, I tried to do an internet search but was overwhelmed by the number of hits. Sorry.

You mean the Richmond NAC unless there is some other fencing organization that hosts NACs.

Fencing.Net will not be at the rumored Raleigh NAC but will attend the USFA NAC in Richmond.
