Whoa, cool, Alexey got a D out of it! He deserves it--he's been working hard since he came back.

Very cool swords for the winners. National (and one international) referees. And the band was good.

Oh, yeah, and Stas totally deserved the C--all that world experience as a foilist and his depth of coaching knowledge were evident on the strip. Astonishing.

I'm still surprised (and a touch disappointed) that the final wasn't between Stas and Brad. It was a pleasure to watch him construct his DE bouts - somehow easier to see the tactics in sabre than in foil, maybe because the touches happen so much faster, so it's easier to hold it all in your head. On the other hand, congrats to Mike for beating him. The whole day was a real pleasure for this spectator.
