So are the rating changes for this event valid?

I doubt it, unless thay got a Division officer to attend at the 11th hour. Very unfortuentate or the ten fencers who would have upgrade their ratings.

We were not able to secure a NC board member to be at the tournament, so the ratings indicated on FRED are not correct. Everyone seemed to have a great time, regardless of ratings. It looks like on the NC website, that they have invalidated everyone's rated tournaments for the remainder of the season (this was updated on 5/20).

Sorry the sanctioning did not work out for you guys. However, many people are more concerned with having a good time than they are with ratings. If you're not having fun, then you might as well stay home, IMHO.

having fun

Yes, you are correct. Also the people were more concerned with training for nationals then getting a new rating. If they really are the level that the rating would have indicated I am sure they will get them at some other tournament outside NC. Like maybe at nationals. For everyone that came to the tournament, thanks. I am sorry that I didn't get to thank you personally, trust me I would have liked to have been there to see some of the final matchs, but wait. I can watch them on television! Hope to see you next month before nationals.

ratings

We (Barbie) also informed the people as they checked in that the tournament was unsanctioned and that there would be no ratings given out but the results would still be on askfred for them to show their coaches and clubmates.

askfred results

Also anyone that sees the results will notice the Nicole is shown as fencing sabre, which is not true, that is Jake Santimaw. Everytime we upload his file we he gets replaced by her. We have sent an email to Peet to see what is up?
