Grand fathering certification:
Well???? mixed emotions on this issue.
Had dinner with Dan D the other night in CA. Oddly enough, he himself is not certified yet. There is only 2 to 3 Armour’s in the US that could test him in my opinion. Kind of hard to do. Yet I have also met some Armourer’s that state 30+ years of experience and pass masks with a 4" hole in a saber bib???
In my opinion: Lets all go through the program, get certified, get recognized as a unified entity, and move on!

In Dan's oppinion there is only one in the
World who is qualified to test him and that of course is Joe. The trouble is, someone got to Joe and convinced him that there should be grandfathering, so Joe will have nothing to do with certification, even though he was also on the committee and created the certification and decided on
No grandfathering.
I have always said I don't like the number of levels the committee came up with. 3 levels to cover the 2 best in the world down to club Armorers. The referees have 10 for the USFA plus 2 more for international.
How can I have been put at the highest level or anyone else who was certified at level 1 be at the same level that Dan or Joe would be at.
I also think it is an insult to pay Dan or Joe less than a referee who is not qualified to work the finals at a NAC.
I apologize to all for getting on my soapbox and getting off the subject.
