| Fat Guy Knickers I’ve been looking at knickers. It would seem that the sizes on the high end knickers only go to 38. I could probably get in to the 38s, but breathing would be difficult. Is there some where to get “fat guy knickers”?
I bought a jacket at my club, but it is cut like a pillow case and is about 4 inches short of my waist. Whoever made it must have assumed their big customers are 5’6”. I’m sure I will loose some weight in the next few months. I’m assuming the smaller sizes in fencing jackets are not any longer then the big ones. Is there a place to get custom fit fencing uniforms? Can you get something like Leon Paul Sydney "Super" FIE 800N jacket and pants custom fit?

| Most manufacturers will do custom cut uniforms. Leon Paul is one of them, so you can most certainly get a custom Sydney range uniform from them. There's usually a 15-30% markup to do large sizes. If price doesn't matter, a custom Sidney uniform from Leon Paul would probably be fantastic. |

| You might want to also do a search on f-net... I think there was a thread regarding this within the last 6 months.

| You can try different manufacturers, which all have different shapes to their clothing. For example, Estoc jackets are built for very, very skinny people, but triplette lamés tend to be cut for larger people. If you have access to any sort of largish tournament, you can try to look around at the jackets and see if any is more suited to your body type.
Or, just get a custom fit uniform, which is a little bit more expensive, but guarantees a good fit. |

| Leon Paul is a 30 percent upcharge for a "custom size" which is anything over a 38 U.S. Fetchsport I think charges 15%, BG carries upto a size US50, but they're 15% more. I have a pair of duellist knickers, and I'm a US40, but you have to have someone who is willing to work with you. Leon Paul doesn't do custom tailoring, unless you can go in and boss them around to size you, in the shop, in London.
Leon Paul makes a size 40 in the 350 competition, and in all reality, if you're not fencing at an international level, get knickers for comfort, not for that big pretty FIE label sewn on them. If you're getting hit too hard in the legs, I have one thing to say to you. You're too damn close, learn to retreat.
My personal reccomendation is get the LP 350 competition, the'yre stretchy and made of a sweat wicking material, Duellist are nice, but good luck getting any unless you can call up Rick and beg for them like I did. Uhlmann 350N stuff is okay, my pair of BG knickers lasted me nearly 4 years of 3 nights a week use, but them promptly blew up. |

| Triplette.com Go to these guys and tell them that Fatfencer from Arizona sent you.
They have FIE quality, great prices and the service I've experienced is par excellence!!!
Tell them about your needs and their seamstresses will guide you thru their simple process to get knickers.
I'd sell you mine but I still use them for when I need to wear my knee brace(some refs get picky about it catching blades)

I have two completely new pairs of PBT "Budapest" 800N knickers in size 54 European.
According to the sizing chart on fencepbt.com, a size 54 European for PBT means:
Total height: 72"
Chest measurement: 43"
Waist measurement: 39"
Hip measurement: 44"
They're $129.00 each if you're interested.

| Fence PBT I am a large fencer myself. I highly recomend Fence PBT. I purchased a custom jacket and it was the nicest and best fitting jacket I have ever had. You can reach them at http://www.fencepbt.com/pbthome3.nsf...6?OpenDocument
Good luck. |

Barry and Co will happily do custom sizing without standing on his desk and shouting at him. They also do the best custom size kit I have ever had, and I have had quite a few. FWF however does a very poor job in my experiance. Never used Duelist. TCA is getting better on their cut, but I would recommend going, or at least getting measured, in person from them. BG does do custom cuts but the fit has never been good for me. They just upsize the standard pattern with never quit fits wright. Absolute has a better made uniform in my opinion and the fit on plus size orders has been better in my experiance. Also I would recommend Absolute over BG as they are just easier to work with. Swordmasters may be able to get custom gear but I am not sure. Drop them a line, they are happy to answer questions.
Or you could just buy stuff in your size, at a great price, right here on the website! You will find that their beginner range has jackets up to 56 and pants up to a 42. Craig and Joanna have a lot of stuff in stock, and if they don't have your size they can get it for you quick. Just click on the fencing.net store link at the top of the page, third one from the left. Not only will you get great service and good prices, you help support the F.net community and the people who do the hard work (for free...) in making this website happen.

| Cville, this is a direct quote from Alex Paul:
"We don't do custom tailoring for exports I am afraid as it is very hard to get the sizing correct without having you here to measure up. We can make items outside our regular size range however. These would be charged at a 30% surcharge and take 4-6 weeks."
Like I said, they don't custom tailor unless you can ac tually be there to get measured, but they'll gladly make a size outside their normal range, at a 30% upcharge. |

| Gotcha, missunderstood what you were refereing to. When most people say "custom cut" they mean a size larger or smaller than the normal range as opposed to a head to heals custom made bit of kit. That was what threw me.
