    Introducing myself

    Hello to everyone..

I've been fencing for a little over a year at the local college, usually a class of 12 or less wich is really nice..

I just turned 37 but better to start later than never..

I started out fencing right handed but had problems with one of my knees and didnt want to quit so I tried it left handed... luckily it was early enough to where I never really learned anything right handed, now fencing left handed feels totally natural.
With luck and hard work I hope to only get better..

Good for you for not giving up! I too am a righty who often fences lefty because of health problems. It can be weird, but as you've seen, doesn't really take all that long to get used to.

Welcome. I'm a righty, but since one of the quirks of the Italian grip is that it's ambidexterous, I dabble in lefty a bit. My footwork is actually better as a lefty.

Oddly I just fenced left handed for the first time the other day at one of my clubs practices. No real reason for it though.

    My body was so confused......

I know the feeling... I tried going back to fencing right handed a while ago just to see how awkward it would feel.. It didnt take me long to go back to being a lefty...
