    Just Saying "HI"

    New to the board, new to fencing, not new to life.

    Hi everyone.
    I am a 31yr old Georgia Female (and a leftie) that is currently just starting her fencing training. I am immersed in medieval history and grew up wanting to be Zorro.
    Alas, I think I will be getting my butt kicked often...lol

    Welcome to the "Kicked Butt" Club. I believe I am the president of that one. I started "late" also and am still learning.

    I am new to fencing also, so I thought I'd ride on "tinasam's" coat tails for a second to say "hi" too. Unlike tinasam, and unfortunately for me, I'm not 31! Many times after class the thought crosses my mind "what were you thinking? at your age? I'm really enjoying the training, so until the stores run out of glucosamine & chondroitin, I'm sticking with it!

    First off-- Already lost my foothold with sanity, ergo thats why I went ahead and said "go for it" on the fencing...

    threre is at mine.. there really should be more leftys in the world though... i have yet to meet a disrespectful lefty fencer...

    Were not allowed to have a "lefty haters club" at our club - for some reason we have an extremely high proportion of lefties. Half of our regular saberists are lefies, and at our last epee tournament we had a pool of 4 lefties to only one righty. When you fence lefties all the time it gets to be no big deal. My coach gave me a left handed lesson to me once and it took me a good 15 minutes to realize it.
