| A heartfelt THANK YOU to the guys from PdF And hugs & kisses too! Considering last year it took like 7 hours to run the U16 event at the NAS Jr. sectionals with only 11 fencers - I was understandably wary of this year's NAS Senior event. With a start time of 3PM, 16 entrants, and - facing a 5 hour drive home in the pouring rain - I was DREADING yesterday's proceedings.
Well - all I can say is YOU GUYS ROCK!!! Not only did you start on time, the directing was decent, and we were able to leave - medal in hand - by 5:30.
IMHO, you should run all NAS events from here on!
THANKS AGAIN FOR A JOB WELL DONE! |

| I agree...what a great event. And despite a foot of rain in NH, no major leaks at the venue, either. Not sure who was running everything, but the Northeast Division hosted this year, and Tracy Nabstedt's Concord Fencing Club did a lot of work setting up and breaking down. And I did see those Pdf guys running around all day!
What a treat to have so little down time. Heck, even while the top eight were duking it out, they had posted the rest of Nationals qualifiers from the spots 9 on down. Kudos to everyone involved. |

I, as well, would like to add my thanks to those people most instrumental in providing a well run tournament (which do NOT include me, despite the PdF logo to the left): Wayne Jenness, Karen Huntress, Alan Kuver, Dave Blake, and Emily Larson.
I was particularly impressed with the ME competition. 64 fencers, 4.5 hours...
not bad.

Congrats to Wayne on heading NAS!
Now can anyone tell me who Ettore Bianchi is and how he went from a U to an A in one tournament? |

| I agree, all 3 North Atlantic sectionals I went to this year (Cadet, Junior, Senior) were very well run. Thank you to all who made these events run so smoothly. These tournaments were a blast, with very little down time. Lots of strips, great refs, non-stop action. Terrific! |

I've been out of NE for too long. I looked through the ME results and barely recognized a quarter of the names! |

-m | Well, that site says he was named Academic All-American--my guess is they lumped that together to account for one of his extra ones. |

| Great job Men's foil was -awesome-. Great refs, quick and friendly admin, even a super quick response to what looked like a leak in the ceiling (!). And not a "Queen B%tch" button to be seen. Well done. Looking forward to '07. |
