| Since I am the local daughter and deal with my (nursing home resident) mother every week, I celebrated Mother's Day by enjoying the fact that my sister and brother drove in from out of town and visited Mom instead. Though my own daughter called me to my surprise and wished me a Happy M's Day.
It's a creation of the greeting card companies and the florists, and it's B.S.

| Made my mum a necklace (forged a pendant in the shipsmith shop based off a design my friends showed me with two loops, the smaller one nestled inside in the big one, and then put in on a leather cord that I made into a necklace with those awful claspy bits you buy at a bead store), went to church with her, and then gave her a narrated slideshow of pics from my semester.
Would have cooked dinner but she claimed not to be hungry. I hope that isn't a comment on my cooking.
Mother's day may be a lot of bull... *shrugs* I like having excuses to do things for people.
