Array My other favourite sport: Archery.
Love it. I shoot 3 times a week and I never get bored. Sure, I have green and black fur and a fluffy tail, but what's more dangerous, your blunt sword or the chance I have rabies and I'm gonna bite ya. -

Array This poll is flawed because you Americans don't have adequate exposure to Cricket other than the Brochian Ultra form, and therefore cannot recognise it's greatness.

Array Nonsense. The stupid crickets often keep me awake at night with their incessant stridulations. If anything we have to MUCH exposure to them. Or at least I do. Use the Shift key, people! Keyboard manufacturers everywhere are ineffably saddened when you ignore what they made just for you! -

Array I'm not a sports spectator. I'm very active-enjoying target shooting, skiing,
kickboxing, backpacking, and lots of other things. Also anything my friends trick me into trying. "The warrior-meditator's job involves clarifying and subduing one's own misunderstandings. It means overcoming fear."

Array Drum & bugle corps....and if you don't believe me, I invite you to spend a day marching drill and pushing air through a narrow brass tube all day!
A kinesologist did a short study of drum corps drummers (in 93 and again in 05) and the numbgers he was seeing were like a marathoner in the middle of a race (for oxy consumption) and a 400 meter sprinter (in terms of heart rate)
Combine the physical side with the mental demands of playing your music correctly, doing the drill, listening in to the percussion in case the decide to not follow the drum major and change tempo (happened to me in 04...idiots never looked up as I was trying to slow them down), making sure you know where you are in relation to the others, etc....it's freaking exhausting.
And we do this for 12 hours a day on tour! And keep in m ind that Bobby Knight would take his basketballers out to watch a local corps practice (Star of Indiana...world champs 1991) to show then what realwork could achieve! -

Array I run x-country and ride horses, used to do track and soccer. I like skiing, though it doesn't work so well in Iowa. Blink and you're at the bottom of the hill! Similar Threads -
