| tap a stripped tip I have a brand new German epee blade in which the seller apparantly used the wrong screws and the tip threads are stripped. Do I have to buy a new German tip or is there a way to run a tap down and fix the threads like you do with a stripped nut? If so what size and TPI tap do I need? |

| Try using Leon Paul screws, they should be able to cut new threads. But after that you can only use LP screws in those holes.

| It would definately be cheaper and easier to get a new tip than it would be to find a tap for an obscure metric thread I would think.

Oddly enough, I got mine off of Ebay. See site below: http://cgi.ebay.com/Good-Imported-Sp...QQcmdZViewItem
If you do in fact get this tap, be sure to let them know you need a bottoming tap.
