Go to School? What are your grades?

I just started this thread because I was bored. So spill your grades -glares-

    I'll start, I have all A's
I see the good times etched in your face. I see the good times, that were once in place. I see the bad times, lurking in your eyes. I see the bad times, through the shadows and lies. The mask you put on is easy to see. The mask you put on, is no match for me.

Grades are for losers. SAT scores are for cool people.

I get As and Bs. Sophmore year, I had almost a solid A average, Junior and Senior year almost solid B.

Not failing. Go go good test scores! I like figuring out how much work I actually have to do to pass for most classes, and then just make sure I get at least a 90 on most if not every test.

We don't talk about grades at Bryn Mawr, and I find this to be an admirable policy. Grades aren't really much of a reflection of anything except priorities. Also I deeply regret the grade competion/ GPA hor-ness of my high school life (I would like NOT to remember home much stock I put in my grades at Austin-East Magnet. In retrospect it was absurd and un-necessary).

No grades posted here for me.

If you feel that it is an "unadmirable" policy to mention grades, then please don't post at all.

    Allow me to interject...

I've attetended school in both the US and in Europe, and the grading system in the US is SIGNIFICANTLY easier. Getting straight "A"s isn't the gold standard it used to be, and I'm OK with that situation.
    Take your time. Read carefully.

I'm sorry I offended you- just pointing out that there can be problems with comparing grades. I am also curious as to your motives for beginning this thread.....

I agree that comparing grades is very difficult. Comparing my high school(4 time Nationaly recognized school of excellence) to other high schools in my city that are about to be taken over by the state because they are failing is almost impossible. It would be like comparing Harvard to Delta State College.

agreed. the private schools near me, well they have good reason to make fun of the 'publics'. our level of grade inflation is terrible. you cannot get expelled. the state owes everybody of the appropriate age an education, for some reason.

(i didnt' make this up. this was quoted from my lab partner)

I managed to have a great lesson in cause and effect some time ago... the worse my grades get, the more I seem to find myself grounded. Well, being a scientist, i decided to test the variable and allow my grades to continue getting worse, or trying to create interesting patterns on my report card. Last grading period i managed to go through all possible letters in alphabetical order and back when the report card is read from top to bottom.

odly enough, when the data is looked at, there seems to be a coorlation between aesthetically pleasing patterns and the ammount of time I'm grounded for, as this time I find myself under lock and key only for a month this time around...
I dont think I'm using that webcam right...

*SIGH* It doesn't really matter if you get straight A's in high school...it'll alllll change when you get into university, especially if you're going into sciences...
