    PB and ???

    Peanut Butter...

If I had to choose one food that would be the ONLY food I could eat for the rest of my life, it would be peanut butter. I love a good peanut butter sandwich, but what to put on it? So many options. Jelly, of course, but I have also eaten peanut butter with:

    Sandwich spread
    Miracle Whip
    Marshmellow fluff
    Pimento spread
    Chocolate sauce
    More peanuts
Thinly sliced tofu (tastes much better than it sounds)
Bacon, I think, but I could be mistaken.

So, what have you added to your peanut butter sandwiches?
One test is worth a thousand opinions.

I like peanut butter on celery... doesn't stick to your mouth and is a great protein snack when active.

Oh... and peanut butter on Easter Bunny ears...

As for sandwiches... I used to eat peanut butter and cheddar cheese sandwiches for a protein boost while hiking.

For sandwiches I gotta go with the typical jelly, jam etc or bananas. But the real treat is PB Balls (let the jokes start coming).

You take peanutbutter and you add powdered sugar and lemon juice. You mix them together and as the consistency becomes one you can roll into balls like dough you add a little more sugar and/or lemon juice to taste while maintaining a similar consistency.

You make a bunch and have them as a very sinful treat.

Although I thought this was an unusual combination until I read everybody else's... Here's how this worked: I'm looking for a snack 'cause my blood sugar's a little low and I grab the peanut butter but don't feel like bread and we're out of saltines, so I'm browsing the pantry and find those thin little Moldavian (?) Ginger Snaps. I'm thinking 'ginger and peanuts work for Asian' and make several dynamite little PB Ginger Sandwiches - quite tasty! This is now on my Official Snack List.

I used to eat two peanut butter and honey sandwiches after swim practice before I would go out to do my paper route.

Can't really eat them, not active enough for that many calories.

I'm afraid I'm reduced to no PB because my school is peanut-butter free--allergies. There goes one of my favorite lunches--PB & tomato sandwiches.

I don't actually like mixing peanut butter with anything other than jelly, although there is a guy I work with that eats peanut butter and marshmellow cream sandwiches everyday. He's a 28 year old college grad who lives at home, and has his mother pack his lunch...

    EDIT: Post number 4500...
