Epee Blade Search I Am Looking For A New Epee Blade. I Would Like One That Stays Fairly Straight For More Accurate Point Control. It Should Be Resilient And Durable (no Kinking Or Double Bends Please). Any Input Would Be Appreciated. -

Array I'll be the first to mention the amazing search button on the toolbar up there. There are plenty of threads discussing epee blades (and foil and saber for that matter). The quick recap (from my recollection of a quick reading, since I don't care much about epee blades) is that the BF FIE blades feel better, but have some issues w/ longevity, and that the LP blades last forever, but are kinda flicky (not likely to really help you with point control), and some people like the StM blades (though I have no real respect for their foil blades).

well kinking and nasty bends tend to be a product of poor distance control and action selection, lunging when 2 feet from your opponent say
but it sounds like the Vniti blades are what you are after. -
Hi, REDLINE. Are You Looking For An Expensive FIE Blade, Or A More Economic Non-FIE Blade? This Would Help Make Our Recommendations Easier. The sweet is never sweet without the sour. -
I could go fie or non-fie depending on which would meet my needs better. -

Array FIE blades sound like they meet your requirements best. However, FIE blades are usually about twice the price of their non-FIE counterparts. The FIE blades generally last longer than non-FIE blades, but depending on the blade, will not last twice as long as a non-FIE blade. Like Keith said, Vniti blades are known for durability but are heavier and whippier than a BF FIE blade.
Leon Paul non-FIE blades are in my opinion the best bang for the buck. They last a long time and take bends very well (rarely kink). They feel different than other blades because they are much lighter (some people like this, some don't). The LP blades are a little whippier than BF FIE blades, but are comparable with other blades.
BF FIE blades are regarded as having the best feel and are generally stiff blades. They are the most expensive blades on the market. Because the lasting life of the blade varies (some last a long time and others break in a 2-3 months) I only reccommend these blades if you can afford to buy several of them. Array epee blades I just purchased two Leon Paul epee blades for my son. One was non FIE as it is a size 2 for y10 and the other an FIE size 5 for y12. His coach said that they were probably the best epee blades because they are v shaped and she personally had never seen one break. -

But they generally last a long time. I like them. Similar Threads -
