    new thread

Seeing as these subjects have gone off on very interesting tangents I thought I would start a new thread and waffle on meaninglessly about nothing in particular and see what you guys come up with!
anyone for a Mr Kipling's lemon slice??

    Please. Call me "Mr. Tom".

    Old Bean.

p.s. What the blazes happened to the fight thread? If it got pulled, please don't reincarnate it here.
    I'll shut up now.

Why do they always put a lemon in the diet coke? I know that it helps to tell them apart, but I want a lemon in my normal coke!

Better yet, I want and lemon in my Krest Limonade (I only saw it in Africa - it's a better version of sprite).

What I really want is a Schweppes (sp?) Bitter Lemon... mmm... damn country, can't make a decent drink!

Just call me Jeebus, (or is it Jebus?)

I'd rather like to attend the Mad Hatter's tea, and wish you all "A Very Merry Un-birthday. Will that be one lump, or two?

I"M FREE! Thats got to be my favourite line in Are you being served.
Mango have you ever seen "Keeping up Appearances" with Patrica Routledge playing Hyacinth Bucket? Its FUNNY as. As for good BBC mysteries there is one with Patrica Routledge but I can think of its name. The BBC has done some great stuff drama wise lately...
    Monarch of the Glen
Scarlet Pimpernel (though that may have been channel 4)
    Hornblower
Ummm a 50's based one whose name escapes me....
    Ballykissangel
and there is always "The Bill" but that isnt as good as it used to be since they changed the format.
Theses are evil....VERY evil, someone rescue me pls!

Anyone know what happened to "Surge"?
I loved the stuff and now it's gone. Replaced by what has to be it's antithesis in a look-alike bottle, "Mello Yello"!

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a dusty old case of Surge?

MHS Fencing- easy solution (to the first request, the others are a bit harder) -- ASK for lemon in your coke. I routinely order coke w/lime and never have a problem (at least at places that have a bar).

Stryder- Mello Yello has been around for decades at LEAST. It WAAAAAY predates Surge. What I'm happy about is that Pepsi has replaced Slice with Sierra Mist. Slice was just WAY too sweet. Sierra Mist sounds just like the knock-off brands of Moutain Dew (yeah, I think Pepsi was REAL stupid on the naming choice here) but is a Sprite/7-Up competitor.

On a mostly unrelated sidenote, when you order Sprite from somewhere that doesn't carry Coke products why do they offer you Ginger Ale as an alternative choice? Pepsi vs. Coke, Sprite vs. 7-Up, okay, I get those, yeah they're different, but they're the same TYPE of soda... Sprite and Ginger Ale just aren't. Then again, I most often wonder this about 5 seconds after saying something like "yeah, that's fine." I don't even LIKE ginger ale.

I remember Mello Yellow from grade school but it has been gone (at least from these parts) since then. I've never tried it. The name was too stupid for the taste to be any good.

Has anyone tried both and if so, are they similar?

    I miss my Surge!

Ahh, asking, interesting idea. Why didn't I think of that? That still doesn't solve my Bitter Lemon crisis (although I'm a bitter New Yorker rather than a European).

This discussion has reminded me of something.

How about a Green River? Man, I love the taste of those. Has anyone seen those anymore?

Also, does anyone remember a year or so back that Pepsi came out with a version of Coke's Sprite: Storm. They tested it out in the Midwest (I specifically remember it going through Indiana). Man, what a waste, it was weird tasting.

No Storm out here, but I am still reeling from the ill-fated "Crystal Pepsi"

We can all guess what form of "crystal" inspired the fools at Pepsi to market that Edsel!

I'm glad to see that as soon as we got rid of the Fantasy paperwork, the Water Cooler discussions turned to where they belong.
