Array Good thinking Steve!
I was sitting around here earlier thinking we needed a new thread and, low and behold, we already had one. So we didn't actually need a new thread after all, we just needed to revive an old new thread, which isn't actually a new thread, but it is because it says so at the top...
I'm getting confuzzled. Anyone else care to try and shed some light on the situation? I wish I could think of something witty to write here. -

Array In soda, I like all the wierd stuff. It's been so long since I've had a Fresca, it was all I drank for a while, but I got sick of it. Now I think I'd like some again. Crystal Pepsi was definitely a bomb, but I recall 7-Up made some kind of gingery brownish stuff, that didn't last very long, I can't remember the name of it, but I loved it. One of my recent addictions is Jones Soda. It's bottled in Canada, and I was originally introduced to it by a small restaurant here that went to California and brought some back, but now they finally sell it here. It comes in all kinds of strange flavors, my current favorites are Crushed Melon, and Cream Soda. They also have Green Apple, which I used to love, but again drank so much I got tired of it, Blue Bubble Gum, pretty good but kind of sweet, a flavor simply called Pink, apparently even the manufacturers aren't sure what to call it, Vanilla Cola, in my opinion absolutely disgusting, Fufu Berry, which I haven't tried, Pineapple Upsidedown Soda, again I think it's gross,Strawberry Lime, actually pretty good despite what it sounds like, and regular cola, imho Coke or Pepsi is better. Part of the reason I like it because it comes in strange colors, and I like to frighten people, in addition the caps have fortunes on the underside. There is some kind of Mexican Soda, I believe it's called Jarritos, that they had at the store around Cinco de Mayo, for the most part nothing special, but they have a Guava flavor that is incredible, however, I haven't been able to find any at the regular grocery store anymore. Maybe they would have some at a Mexican specialty store. Finally, I love Apple Beer--it's non-alcoholic, but my friends at work always used to tease me about having a beer at lunch. It tastes somewhat like sparkling apple cider. I know it's available off and on in stores in Utah and Litza's Pizza, imho the best pizza anywhere, here in Salt Lake has it all the time. Finally I like Snapple Rain. It's cactus flavor according to the label, it sounds gross to me too, but I tried it once when I was in an adventurous mood, and it was great, although I'd like to know what an Astralagus is. I really miss New York Selzer as well. It was big around here when I was in about 5th or 6th grade, at least at my school, but I haven't seen it in years. Basically it was flavored water, but it was good and came in all kinds of flavors.
As a side note, there's a kind of sparkling cider that comes in a bottle that looks like a champaign bottle, I think it's Martinelli's, but I'm not sure. Anyway, my cousin's son won a scholarship competition that sent kids from middle-school age and up to spend timein an exchange program with kids from Brazil and other Central/South American countries. When he got back they threw a party for him and invited his friends and some family members. My cousin decided to serve this kind of cider. Her father-in-law just noticed that the kids seemed to be walking around with this pale yellow, bubbling substance, and the bottle looked suspicious. He headed out to the kitchen to confront my cousin about serving alcohol to kids, and she had to explain to him that it was just cider. It's nice when the in-laws trust you, I guess.
ps. Yes, I do remember Koala soda, that was good too. It was another of those juice and water concoctions for those who don't know.
pps. I too thought of the "Mellow Yellow" song, I don't remember much more of it than you do although I recall something about an e-lec-tri-cal bannana--which is why I don't sing that song out loud for fear there's some hidden, and somewhat dirty meaning there that I don't want to know about.

Array Very few of those mean anything to me, but after a message somewhere on this forum (by steve) I went out and bought a nice cold can of Irn Bru, which I haven't had in /ages/. I bought a can of Tizer too. They be good scottish drinks, them (Barrs based in Glasgow as I recall).
I am also quite partial to Rubicon, especially the canned version. I think my favourite is mango flavour, but I quite like the passion fruit one and that one in the green can (can't remember what fruit that it, only had it once). I wish I could think of something witty to write here. -

Array I've just had a strange, unfounded recollection of the Trebor Softmints advert too (uk).
"Oh Mr Sof-f-f-t,
won't you tell me why the world in which you're living is so stra-a-a-nge..."
It's ok, I'm done now.

That advert was great!

Array Hmmm...takes great skill to kill a thread stone dead. I feel it is my duty to revive it.
It's ok, I've been feeling much more positive since my friend took me to the pictures.
Ok, erm, adverts...
"trebor mints are a minty bit stronger..."
hmm, perhaps not, eh Steve. It's like asking someone to remember the real words to the fraggle rock theme. I wish I could think of something witty to write here. -

They were the real lyrics, weren't they?

Array Yeah, I don't even remember the characters names, I vaguely remember what they look like - I could recognise them in a line-up I think. All I really remember is the song (or a version of that was sung in the playground). Ask anyone here around my age (19) if they can remember the theme to fraggle rock and they will all begin to sing the same version - believe me, I've tried. I had to look up the real version. Dance your cares away,
Worry's for another day.
Let the music play,
Down at Fraggle Rock.
Work your cares away,
Dancing's for another day.
Let the Fraggles play,
We're Gobo, Mokey, Wembley, Boober, Red.

Worry's for another day.

Array Was there ever a drink called Fanta? I think it came in different flavors...Orange especially.
Speaking of dumb big corporate mistakes...the biggest one had to have been when Coke changed to the new formula and then destroyed the old formula. New Coke didn't do squat so the went back to the old Coke suppossedly, but never quite tasted the same. Why mess up a good thing -

Array Fanta still exsists Event. Least it does in Oz. Personally I cant stand the stuff, WAAAAAY too sweet, but thats just me.

Array Fanta? I had some at Burger King today. The orange flavour seems to be the only one left. I think there may have been a green one at some point, but if so it was short-lived. There was definitly a raspberry flavour. The last time I could get hold of any was about 5 or 6 years ago I think, and it was scarce then. I absolutely adored raspberry fanta, which explains why it was probably taken off the market. That happens to all the stuff I like. I wish I could think of something witty to write here. -
Pepsi or coke?
I'd go for Pepsi. Less gassy.
Orange fanta's the only one left, I think.
Wasn't there a Boober Fraggle?
What the hell's Fresca anyway? -

But I miss the raspberry flavour sooo much...

Well, the song words above say so but I really don't remember.

An artificially sweetened grapefruit flavour soft drink, apparently. Still means nothing to me. [ 08-31-2001: Message edited by: Haze ] I wish I could think of something witty to write here. -

I just found your post with the lyrics...
Gobo, Mokey, Wembley, Boober, Red.
Oh, man! that brought back memories!
Who was your fave? Mine was Wembley, for some reason that I can't remember. -
Thanks a million for letting me relive my teens. I remember the tune now!
Brilliant!
