    A PLEA FOR HELP

I've already posted this in Fantasy Land, but she needs all the help she can get, so I'll put it here, too.

I have a friend who needs some SERIOUS prayer. I don't know who is religious here, or how much, but she needs HELP.

I know her name, but won't tell that. Her screen name is Marah Seph, and she is one of my best friends. I love her like a sister.

In early June this year, as I was getting ready to move, I began to sense something was wrong while talking to her. I eventually got her to tell me that she'd been molested for several years by her nineteen year old brother. I finally convinced her to tell her parents, who threw the asshole out. Now he's renting a house from them.

Yesterday, I got an email saying she had something important to tell me. Talking to her last night, she told me that he'd raped her. She also has reason to believe that he gave her a venereal disease. She does not have the courage to tell her parents. If she hasn't by tommorow, I'm going to call them and tell them myself, regardless of the consequences. A case needs to be brought against her brother. But no matter what happens, this girl is lonely, feeling cut-off from God, despairing, and at her wit's end. She's also hundreds of miles away from me; I can do NOTHING!!

She needs a LOT of prayer, guys. I can only do so much. Please, if you're the slightest bit religious, or even have an idea of some God, pray for her!!

    Swordsman.

You Have my prayers this day for the health and well being of your friend. No one should EVER have to go thru that horrible experience. Your friend is fortunate to have your support and understanding. No mere words can fix the terrible damage that has been done to your friends life. Only time and constant support from sincere friends such as yourself can help your friend move on to a better life.

    Swordsman-
I am sorry to hear that your friend is in distress. You are "doing" something by being present for her; presence as defined by your caring and loving concern.

Although I am not religious, I will consciously emote caring and loving energies in the hope her circumstances will evolve toward a healthier situation.

    Take care of yourself too.

Like I said, don't worry about me.

Swordsman I'm not trying to be rude - but don't post this stuff on a public board. It could cause more harm in the long run.

I won't offer advice on a deeply private mater such as this except to say that this is a criminal matter, and should be brought to the attention of your local authorities.

Good point, Gav. Based on the reaction so far, I think it was worth it. I will keep your advice in mind, but hopefully there won't be a next time.
