i'll reply in just a second, but first i want to make a statement:
I read with interest this morning, of the debacle with the german tips, while i have never found this to be a problem, i wanted to reply that this morning, when i sprayed a little cologne from my atomizer, my spring ALMOST broke, I felt commaradare with the german tip person and wished to reply, when i clicked on i realized; I am UNALLOWED to enter into that area! i mention this only because i think it's unfair. grossly unfair.

names for foils: la belle, la fleur, flash etc.
i'll think of more and post later - goodbye.

    Flick and Blue

Flick for my whippy blade and Blue for the blue blade. Hmm, the third one....Mike. I'm saving that one to use on somebody special.

There now, feel better? Who's got no imagination?

    My foils names are:

    "Rusty",
    "Unused",
    "Rattling-around-in-the-bottom-of-my-weapons-case"
    "Novice beater"

    They don't get out much.

*Sigh* I don't know why I'm admitting to this, much less posting it, but when I used to fence foil:
    1. Dartagnan
    2. The De-Virginator (my coach named that one)

I have a "dry" practice sabre that I purcahsed back in 1972. I have never had to replace any of it's parts, it's all original. I always have it in my bag, and I use it often in sabre practice. When I practice sabre I think of Harpo Marx in his fencing scene in the film A NIGHT IN CASABLANCA.
I'm about as serious as Harpo when I fence sabre and that tends to really cheese off my opponents.
They make a fair amount of mistakes when angered and my sabre "WACKY" and I are there to seal the deal.
