    Green Lame?

    Hello people

I was wondering why some people's lames turn green, usually around the neck area. A bunch of fencers at my club have this happen, and I was getting curious.

    Thank you!

The metal is oxidizing from all the sweat produced while fencing.
A vulture boards an airplane, carrying two dead raccoons. The stewardess looks at him and says, "I'm sorry, sir, only one carrion allowed per passenger."

I've noticed this too on a few of the club lames that we have, is it actually possible to remove some of the oxidation or is it best to let it be so as the material does not deteriorate further?

It's possible to make them better, but only if it is the nonconducting oxidized metal on top that's preventing the flow of electricity, rather than broken wires.
