Whatever they are made of they are the cheapest piece of dodo you will ever own. I bought 200 of them direct from StM and I was very disappointed. IF you are not still growning I would suggest you buy a good lame. Like the Estoc 60% nickel metal lame'. You can find that on my website. I am not just blowing smoke for a sale. It really is one of the best lame's on the market and it is warrantied for 2 years after purchase.

I bought the lame from eli, and it was very light and cloth like. Thats becuase it seems to be just that, mostly cloth. The metal that is in the lame is copper. It didn't take long to turn green around the collar. It did last me a little over a year before developing any dead spots though.

Edit: This was with practice 3 times a week. I also rarely folded or rolled up the lame.

Wow, a warranty on a lamé?! What does it cover/not cover?

Santelli had warranties on their lames a few years ago (a short while before folding for unrelated reasons).

It's probably similar to car warranties, something like

    Rust Perforation Limited Warranty

...Rust Perforation Coverage applies to perforation due to corrosion only. Perforation is a rustthrough condition, such as an actual hole in a sheet metal panel. Cosmetic or surface corrosion, such as that caused by stone chips or scratches in the paint, is not covered under this warranty...

I'd answer that with something clear, but Swordmaster is snoring in the other bed, so I can't ask him.

    (roommates, Ark-LA-MS Divisional is tomorrow)

Perhaps that accounted for some of their priciness.

Yes. Cynic that I am, I'm expecting an exclusion for "normal wear and tear" or some such.
