Array Breaking ties in Qualifying for World Teams? There could well be ties in qualifying for the teams going to the Veterans World Championships.
Before, the first two qualifiers were combined from 40 up. So fencers were not likely, although it was possible, to wind up tied for making the team.
This year all 3 qualifers are limited to the fencers in the age group. Based on the results of the first two qualifiers, there could be ties in several events.
Is there any precedent for deciding who goes?
If no precedent, how do you decide?
Consider the third event? Discriminates against those who didn't go to all 3.
Fence off? What if one or more of the tied fencers aren't there? Whoopee! My avatar is back. -

Fence off? What if one or more of the tied fencers aren't there? This is being discussed in the Veterans Committee and tie-breaking rules will be posted, I believe, in May. Similar Threads -
