    Worth the price?

I'm new to fencing looking to join a club and eventually complete. I've been looking around and found this begginers package on the leon paul website and wanted to know if it was a good deal.I am planning to go foil.

    http://www.leonpaul.com/acatalog/info_K3_Beg.html

Comes to about 350$ before shipping.

Most consider Leon Paul equipment to be among the best around. If you are willing to spend the money on it then I would. It may be easier to order from www.leonpaulusa.com all the prices there are in USD with shipping included.

Conventional wisdom holds that you should try the sport for a period to determine if you want to stay with it before purchasing your own gear. Just a thought.

You might also look at the prices from fencing.net, this very website, who stock Leon Paul gear as well. In addition, there are many vendors in California.

I doubt they have the funds available for this event to hire spectators, although that would be a nice touch. Oh wait, you meant would YOU have to pay to watch a fencing tourney??? Wow, you are new to the sport!

LP makes some of the best competition gear around and if you can afford to start off with it, it will last you forever. Welcome to the sport, and once you get the newbie stuff out of the way and are ready to actually start fencing come say hi to us in the EPEEist only thread and do a few hail mary foot touches at the (hit) First Church of Epee.
