    Soundtrack of your Life

If your life were turned into a movie, what kind of music or songs would you want played in the movie? What kinds of songs or what bands do you want found in your movie soundtrack?

Songs you choose could reflect some important incident of your life at times of happiness, sadness, etc.

Also, what music would you want played during intense fencing bouts or fencing practices?

    Have fun!

One day, when I'm feeling very introspective, after I finish my fencing goal and lay my competitive side to rest -- I want to hear "Where is my Mind?" by the Pixies play, because that'll be what I'm thinking during my reflection.

wow too broad for me to be so general lets say a lil folk music by the likes of bob dylan...some good old mid 90's grunge for the angst and some mellow euro indi rock. Just far far too much...wouldnt know where to start lol.

    Hey, Aqua,

Way to make me feel old! I haven't heard of any of those songs or groups. At least I've heard of five of MP's choices.

I think I would wake up to Thus Spake Zarathustra, have folk and California rock (James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Bruce Cockburn, Garnet Rogers, Danny O'Keefe, Gordon Lightfoot, Gordon Bok, Archie Fisher) on during the day, and fall asleep to Silvio Rodriguez. For fencing background music, We Are the Champions and Ride of the Valkyries. Mambo for footwork practice. For love scenes Marvin Gaye or Johnny Mathis. Washing dishes and general household chores, Suzanne Vega. Meditation, Clannad or Bothy Band.
And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust?

well, i definitly think iron maiden's flash of the blade and the duellists are the best for my fencing scenes.
other than that, i'll have to think about it.

I'll just let John Williams or Danny Elfman compose it. Saves me all the work.

Empire them of the 'empire strikes back' is the best for me.
'Last of the Moickans', all the music thems of Conan and of course the 'Lord of the Rings'.
The purpose of tactic is to conquer the enemy with proper war movements and actions.

Ha. I understand the empire theme. But if only I'd seen the last of the "Mohikans". however that one movie about the french and indian war with Daniel Day-Lewis and Madeleine Stowe was pretty decent, especially it's music.

I suppose however that rather than have music to my life, I would match my life to "The Nightmare Before Christmas" soundtrack, composed by Danny Elfman.

I'd choose a wide array of modern rock and alternative music as well as classical music (especially Chopin, Brahms, Schumann, Rachmaninoff and Liszt) and Spanish guitar music (especially Albeniz) (with the guitar music played by John Williams...the guitarist, NOT the composer who wrote the music for Star Wars, etc.).

Hmm, can't forget rain songs or songs with "rain" included in the song title (it rains quite a bit where I live)...and Chopin's Prelude in D flat Major, also known as the "raindrops" prelude...oh yeah, Breaking Benjamin's "Rain".

And as for the serious fencing scenes, especially during tournaments, Blindside's "Fell In Love With the Game"
"I don’t have a choice, I’m a puppet. The Universe sticks its hand up my butt. If I don’t dance, people get hurt."

My life's soundtrack would be rife with inspirational ballads such as "Highway Chile" by Jimi Hendrix, "Dragostea Din Tei" by O-Zone and "Moskau!" by Dschginghis Khan, interspersed with carnal audio delights such as "Sexual Healing" or "Between the Sheets". It would end with the Act 2 Moderato from Swan Lake by Pyotr Illych Tchaikovsky. Or the original "Axel F". I can't decide.

Any of the above would be awesome during fencing practice, though "Dragostea Din Tei" gets bonus points because my coaches are Romanian.

Songs of a Klingon Battle Muse...wind screaming through a cellphone speaker by a voiceless call from the desert...fade to black with a little Bob Dylan....

    I'll fence with Beethoven's, "5th Synphony".
I'll be eulogized with Bartok's, "Cantata Profona".
I'll get high with Jesus and we'll listen to AC(...lightning bolt...)DC
