Steve: If you liked the Matrix soundtrack, you'd probably like the Spawn soundtrack too. I don't know anything about the movie--never saw it. The soundtrack has some remixes with different groups collaberating: Filter & The Crystal Method for a remix of Trip Like I Do, Butthole Surfers & Moby (?!).

Right now I'm in a techno-ish phase. No one plays it on the radio around here so it's kind of hit and miss. I'm liking Underworld from a few years ago (dubnobasswithmyheadman and Second Toughest in the Infants). I would also include in that catagory Fluke, William Orbit (Strange Cargo series), The Crystal Method (Vegas), some Fatboy Slim, some Delirium, Hybrid (Wide Angle). I like my music to go somewhere, not just beat on my head with percussion. If anyone has any suggestions, I welcome them!

In a different category, there's a newish album by Snake River Conspiracy with an wicked cover of The Cure's Lovesong. Kind of raw and edgy.

The Matrix soundtrack is great. My favorite off that CD is "clubbed to death (kurayamino mix)" by Rob d.

I like to listen to techno too. So sabreuse here's a suggestion for you: listen to the Run Lola Run soundtrack. I think it might fit into your techno-ish phase.

Thanks EH. The Go soundtrack had some good stuff on it too but, on average, it was fairly mainstream. Massive Attack is pretty good too.

Massive Attack are pretty good. Check out Portishead and Tricky as well. Who the hell is Rob D? Clubbed to Death is a fantastic track as is Furious Angels (it sounds like Chris Rhea doing a Big Beat number - not as bad as it sounds!).

Does anyone know if Rob D has an album?

If you like the Matrix soundtrack check out Rob Zombie's Hillbilly Deluxe.

I also have an album called "The Blackest Album - an Industrial Tribute to Metallica" if you like Techno and Metal you'll like that. The girlfriend has an amusing album called "An Electro Tribute to Guns 'N' Roses" [I think]. It has some truly remarkable collaberations - the singer of LA Guns with Sigue Sigue Sputnik ha ha ha ha!

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
[wipes tears with back of hand]

But seriously it does feature the odd good tune.

I just saw YES at Pine Knob near Detroit. One of the best bands ever, IMHO, but I wish Ric Wakeman was with them. They did have a small symphony, tho'. And they were awesome.

Anyone a RUSH fan? Best thing to come out of Canada if you don't include beer.

I believe the Canadians owe us an apology for Bryan Adams! Oh dear, Oh dear, oh deary me. And while they're about it they could also apologise for Alanis Morrisette.

Alanis was actually kind of cute when she was on "You Can't Do That on TV" (a Canadian kids' show back in the 80's). I guess all that slime they dumped on her (pre-Nick tv) had a negative effect.

Barenaked Ladies & Smash Mouth are awesome, as are the Dixie Chicks....Good Bye, Earl!
