Swordmaster Series IV, televised fencing event Apr 22, 2006 - Apr 23, 2006 The question was asked a few times so we will answer it here. Yes, you can win the big swords for the unrated events also. We give little swords for the 12 and under. "who do you think you are?"
"Do you think by making someone a knight, you make them a better fighter?"
"Yes" -
recap of swordmaster series IV Well, this month was a blast and we have some new television stars for the veiwing audience. Jerry Bastian, from the Raliegh Fencers Club won the foil event and gave a great interview. Philip Sugar won the epee event earned his C and gave a great interview about fencing through his high school years and from middle school. Mike O'Connor was the sabre event earned his A and we had great visitors from NJ the Brown family flew down. Zack got his B, Matt got his C and not to be outdone, Dad (Richard) got his E!
The unrated events were won by Chris Cruzen of UT Knox, Gabe Green of KOS SC and Koyt Everhart III of KOS NC. The Y12 were won by Jasmine Linge in sabre and epee and CJ from Greenville SC won the foil. For all the pools and d.e.s go to askfred.
The commentary during the sabre show is focused on getting fencing into the high schools. We were lucky to have two fencers that fencing in the NJ high school circuits and talked at great lengths about the safety and benefits of high school fencing. These shows will be available in about 2 weeks of post production (cost is $15 for the dvd if you are interested).
Attendence was great. Next week we have the open of the new SC school (right next to Carowinds Amusement Park)!
