I've got 7 kittens that need names. What are teh first 7 or so letters (in order) if teh Greek alphabet? I know it starts Alpha, Beta, etc, but after that, I'm lost.

| Sam,
You are NOT going to name your kittens after the letters in the Greek alphabet, are you?
Jeeze. Why don't you use the names of the reindeer in "The Night before Christmas?" Or something.....
It's like calling them One, Two, Three, Four...

| One of our pledge things was to be able to recite the Greek alpahabet at least 10 times on a burning match. We then had a contest with the pledges of a sorority to see who could do it faster. Of course the alcohol made everyone slur the letters. Very funny.

| Mark, I've already gone the numeric route (although we did it in Spanish). The problem is, 5 of the 7 are black...we can't really tell them apart! Besides, I've fostered over 300 cats & kittens since I started in rescue, and sometimes it's difficult to find a name.
Although, someone once said that for people who don't drink, we've named a LOT of kitties after booze! |

| The only reason I'm going with the Greek alphabet is because they're just now developing individual personalities, but it's STILL damn difficult to tell them apart. Otherwise, I'd go with your suggestions (I'll keep 'em mind fo rthe future, tho'). Sometimes it takes awhile for the perfect name to crop up; I don't wanna slap on a meaningless name unless I have to, and this time, I have to . They're probably going to go up for adoption this weekend anyway, and I don't think it'll take that long for them to go out. The new owners often change the names anyway. Thge names we give them is just to keep track of everyone, and it gives us something to talk about. We're still laughing about something a kitten did 4 years ago! I'll always remember Flower because she jumped from the top of the cat tree in the den and caught the top of a hanging lamp for a second. Here eyes bugged out of her head and she never tried teh jump again.
Poor baby! |
