I am new to the NAC circuit and wondered when USFencing posts the upcoming NAC's for next season. I have a work vacation schedule to pass and hate to give up my chance as it is seniority based but if I pass it I lose priority.
Thanks

The schedule is usually available in rumour form after Nationals, and in a more official form some time after that. If you look at this year's schedule, you will see that you can guess some of the dates (long weekends). The order of tournaments generally remains the same, i.e., the first is usually a Div II/Cadet, with either Div III or Y/14 (IIRC) rounding it out. Look back over the last few years to extrapolate further. As for when your event will be? HAHAHAHAHAHA! You learn that rather closer to the actual weekend.
This season has flown by. i hope the NAC schedule for next season is really simular to last seasons. As we work on setting up the RMSC it would be nice to have dates for planning purposes.
The season is usually the same as previous seasons' schedules, modulo any major changes requested by the BoD (and I don't think there has been any such request). The weekends may be off by one weekend or so, but usually are held on the same weekends as previous seasons' (because they coincide with usual holidays).
The schedule, sometimes minus locations, is usually available by the April NAC, which will be in Sacramento in about two weeks.

I'm mostly interested in where the events will be, and this seems to be the last piece of information that's published. I don't go to all of the NACs, and geography is my primary consideration when choosing which event's I'll attend.

Where is not published until the contracts have been signed.
Currently the USFA is working to build out a couple of year's-worth of calendar. Presumably once that process has been completed it will be published and the USFA will try adding dates in the year a couple ahead of the current season. The plan is to have a system shortly that will allow for considerably more advance notice and planning than we've been experiencing.

That would be a nice improvement over the current situation!
Many of us are hoping that registration would be online with update to the registration list (as in AskFred), that waiting times are reduced at check-in and between pools and DEs: check-in lines can be speed up by scanning a USP code which already confirms name in the registration list; referees will be carrying palm devices connected via Wi-fi to central computer; results will be available for IR download to palm devices at tournament and online (Note: PDFs from Reno are still not in the USFA website).

What PDFs are you looking for? The results have been posted for quite some time. The USFA hasn't historically posted round-by-round results and I'm not sure why anyone would expect that to have started last month.

Brad,
Beginning with this "new 2005-6 website", PDFs have been posted since the first competition of the season (Miami NAC), and every NAC has been posted with PDFs except for the last one. This is one of the few improvements that our webmaster has done for the website, which is providing more information than the previous website. The RENO PDF results were said to be "posted soon" in the USFA website frontpage, until other news pushed that announcement out of the frontpage. PDFs from RENO NAC have not been posted.

Okay, obviously I withdraw my statement.

Poulet,
The PDF results of men's wheelchair events are hidden and not linked to the webpage of results. For example, the Wheelchair Men's Epee has results but no link for download: http://www.usfencing.org/do/contentItem?contentId=1989 .... I wonder whether you are the webmaster to know that hidden content. If so, this particular feature (PDFs) is a really good contribution improving the website. Adding some videos will be nice advertising for new members interested in fencing.
Best regards,
JEC
