| Mag Shaker let go at NJIT Does anyone know how to contact him? Is he teaching any where in New Jersey or New York? I called NJIT and was told his contract was not renewed. I would like to get some lessons if he's still in the area. Thanks |

| Where's Waldo - I mean Mag... Haven't we done this one before...except the college was different - and the last time around included a rather scurrilous thread that appears to have been (appropriately) removed?
Could this possibly be the same person looking for Mag - once again? |

| Rough crowd. Sounds like a conspiracy theory, sorry to ruin your fun at my expense. I ran into him at regionals and we set up some dates for lessons. When I called to confirm, I was told his contract wasn't renewed. Nothing more nothing less. JMU, NJIT why hasn't a more prestigious university picked him up? He's actually someone who can prove his credentials, what a waste. |

| I think the only way, now, for Maged to prove his credentials is to prove it at some 3rd rate club or college. And when that is shown to succeed, he may move on to the next level.

| Mr. Dew, sorry for the long absence. I went home for spring break and now finals. I have to agree on your advice for Maged Shakers next career move. The more I hear the less I want to know. Maybe not the person I want to be involved with after hearing the rumors and gossip. Sounds like he's having a rough go of it right now. I archived the team and individual results for the universities and clubs he has been employed with, under his instruction they all had their worst seasons. Some great fencers aren't good coaches and vice versa...
I enjoy reading this board, please keep up the great advice. |

| I'm not implying that he's a good or bad coach. I'm referring to his lack of professionalism, which is probably more of a cause for his dismissal rather than his ability to make good fencers. He now has to earn back his professional reputation, and it would me doing so at less prestigeous colleges or universities or clubs.

The statement was made by me after checking his stats. I'm sorry if my responce somehow implied the comment came from you. I was contacted last evening with a number to reach him. He's still in Newark, New Jersey looking for a job. |
