| Cadet World Championships finals @ fencingchannel.tv Tonight was a great day! We had two american gold medals.
Women Saber was like if we were at home 3 americans in the podium.
The final between Becca and Vloka was a great bout with a lot of surprises.
Stayed tuned @ fencingchannel.tv. Later tonight we will have up the finals of the day. For the moment we have Men's Saber from yesterday. http://www.fencingchannel.tv/feature/2006fie/CKOR.htm |

| Great work getting that up.
I think it might be improved by fewer cuts to close-up shots. For most of the bout it's impossible see the actions. |

| Actually, forget the closeup shots. Give us the wide angle! I want to be able to see the whole action on both sides - particularly in sabre. And I love that the ref is for once included in the frame - it really helps when trying to 'play along at home.'

The closeup shots make it impossible to see what action occured or who got the touch. |

| @ fencingpictures: You would do well to have a contact email address that works, so people can ask you about various things. In lieu of that, I'll ask them here:
- Is the video of Bissdorf vs. Kleibrink intentionally truncated to only a couple minutes?
- If you're going to give your movie away for free anyway, why do you need to put it in such a difficult format as h264 over RTSP? Couldn't there be a downloadable, say, mpeg movie? |

| the email for fp is info@fencingpictures.com.
The semifinal bout is the full bout.
The podcast version is downlodable.
About the closeups we agree. fp is not directing the shooting.
We are working on the internet and the slow motion for the referees.
However for tonight finals we will have to use the footage for one of the slow motion cameras because we have some audio problems with the other feed.
Thus for tonight I think all touches are very clear and for the Women's Saber we have a little surprise on the size.
The finals will be ready tonight around 8-9 EST.
Bonus Material for today.
fp bring you the 4 americans with their medals and flag around them from Taebaek City. Bonus material for today (you can watch it now). http://www.fencingchannel.tv/feature/2006fie/CKOR.htm
Tomorrow we will have the foil wireless system tested in the morning. It seems that if FIE is satisfied with the test the system will be used @ MF GP in St. Petersburg. |

| I watched the Cadet ME Gold and was amazed at the excellent view and video quality. Now looking for the Women's Sabre, I really want to see some video where you can see the referee's calls and agree/disagree.
Thanks! |

| Really enjoyed the Cadet Men's Epee. Not least because Graham's a teammate, but the quality of the video was good and you could follow the action.

| Is there any chance that you could make it easier to find the video clips from the front page of the website? I know what I'm looking for, and I still had to look for half an hour. My students won't know what they're looking for, and it's much easier to tell them "fencingchannel.tv" than "fencingchannel.tv/blah/blah/blahblahblah.htm". |

Or a group of 60-year-olds. Or... Or... Or... It's hard to find unless you get there from here. |

There were a number of preparations that really didn't look like preparations, a couple of continuations that looked more like redoublements, and some simulatanious calls that I couldn't figure out.
Guess thats why I'm not an FIE grade sabre referee yet, but even still...
Okay, someone who is a higher-ranked sabre referee than I am, please tell me I'm not the only one who is really puzzled. The calls WERE at least consistant, so the ref gets credit for that.
To the photographer - thanks for letting us play along at home easier this time! And we LOVE the high resolution/large size format! Next time though, can you pan up a couple of more times to let us see the score? Great job overall!

| I'm gonna have to go with the crowd and note that the reffing was pretty bad, not really all that consistent with AiP vs. Simultaneous and at least 3 that were just outright blown calls....
