DivII/III combined qualifiers and FencingTime... quick question for ya'll....
when Divisional DivII/DivIII qualifiers are run together, first you take the top 1/4 (min 3) for Div II, then:
the top 1/4 (min 3) of D,E,Us EXCLUDING the ppl qualifying for both (when you counted for Div II)?
OR
the top 1/4 (min 3) of D,E,Us INCLUDING the ppl qualifying for both (when you counted for Div II)?
Thus in this made up example:
1 (C) DivII
2 (C) DivII
3 DivII + Div III
4 DivII + Div III
5 DivIII
6 DivIII
7 (DivIII)???
8 (DivIII)???

Do 7 and 8 qualify for Div III or not?
I THOUGHT not, but FencingTime says they do.... Peet? -

I THOUGHT not, but FencingTime says they do.... Peet? Since this is a Fencing Time thing, allow me to answer (since I wrote it!)
If I understand your example correctly:
# of Div II fencers = 16, 25% = 4
# of Div III fencers = 14, 25% = 3.5 -> Rounded up to 4
So the top 4 finishers get Div II slots. Those who aren't C's get Div III also because they get that automatically for qualifying for Div II. They do NOT take up any of the 4 Div III slots.
The next 4 fencers (4-8, all D & Under in your example) then get the Div III slots. So it looks like Fencing Time's determiniation is correct.

But for the record: Dan Berke is the genius behind Fencing Time.
Dan: you ever get FRED questions that really should have gone to me?

We need to get the XSeed developer posting on here. And PalmFencer and all the other software that's infiltrated the sport, like StripMangler. Similar Threads -
