Originally Posted by telkanuru Would this be your 800N glove? If so, what's the price? | Nope...this is the Armor One...the regular glove...$25 each. The Armor 800 (the 800N glove) will come out when I have the money to buy the Dyneema...it's expensive stuff!!
However, I should point out that Fat Fencer has a copy of the previous Armor 800 prototype, and I just got in the copies I'm prodiving to Edew, his student, and Sabrebell.
If enough vendors pick up the Armor One for resale, I should be able to get the Armor 800 out in time for next season...I think we're a little too close to Nats to make it in time for that event...but you never know. |

| The gloves are packed in the car, but the shirts are being washed and dried (to shrink them in advance)...herte's a pic of the art (keep in mind, this is the top shirt in a pile...which is why it looks crooked.
If you can't read the text, it reads:
"If the sword - NOT the 6-gun - had been the weapon of choice in the Old West"
(read in a Yosemite Sam-type voice)
Left fencer: "This piste ain't big enuf fer th' two of us."
Right fencer: "Them's fencin' words!
"Left fencer: "Yeah...them's fencin' words!"
Right fencer: "En Garde, yew varmint!"
Black printing on a light grey/blue shirt, $10 each
Note that they're wearing spurs, too! |

| Sam,
You've probably talked about it before... but what makes the Armor One special?
i.e. why would I want to buy that glove, when I've got a perfectly good Uhlmann in my bag?

-w | Primarily 2 things....the closure of the cuff (the circumference around the arm) is longer by 5cm. Doesn't sound like much, but if you've got a beefy arm or a bunched up jacket sleeve, you have a REAL difficult time closing the glove on any other design.
2nd, the padding...I've got a 1/8" layer of closed-cell foam from the fingertips to the back of the cuff..and an extra 1/8" layer on the back of the hand...minimizes impact forces on the hand. |
