Can an experienced fencer recommend a top summer camp? Hi New to the sport and forum.
Can anyone recommend a premier/blue ribbon foil (girls) summer camp (one week or two)? Travel not a problem.
I am specifically looking outside her club because she is fencing trhe same kids every week. She is a Y10.
There must be a camp that is considered the best to attend.
Thanks in advance! -

Thanks in advance! Michael Marx's Northwest Fencing Center in Portland has a foil camp every August that draws alot of good fencers. I'm not sure how much a ten year old would take away from it, though. The club in Westchester has a lot of young fencers and they hold are holding a series of camps this summer. -

Array Rochester Fencing Center holds some elite foil camps/workshops (The had one for the WF team and a few other people several weeks ago.) I'll ask tonight if they do any for kids over the summer. Array DCFC holds a kids specific summer camp for children 8 and up. The coaches are pretty good and they've produced some excellent fencers. They've been running the camp for several years now, so they have a pretty good grasp on what they're doing. http://www.dcfencing.com/dcfc/ -
i have been to penn state summer camp, it is good. `When the only tool you own is a hammer, every problem begins to resemble a nail.'

Fencing Camps I also agree that Rochester Fencing Center holds some of the best foil camps/workshops in the country. Nat is a fantastic coach, especially with kids. I send many of my top level fencers there.
For Epee I would suggest anything in Texas by either Jim Carpenter and/or Paul Peschty. Again top coaches in the weapon.
For Sabre, it's hard to beat Ohio State Camp. Although, Oregan has a great camp as well. Especially for women/girls. -
I'm just wondering, how good is she and how hard does she want to train? -
Fencing camps I highly recommend the penn state fencing camp. I have participated in the camp the past three years. In addition to high level instruction, campers are allowed to go to the on campus pool or play other sports (frisbee/soccer/etc). The campers range in ages from grade school until high school. If you have any further questions, feel free to reply. -
Penn State Camp Anyone interested in participating should sign up as soon as you can. My daughter is waitlisted for the 1st camp week and she's 11th in line . Spaces seem to go quickly depending on the week you're interested in. Similar Threads -
