Is anyone really surprised? I very much doubt that this is the first time a CIA agent has been burned for political reasons. It comes with the territory.
The declassification that is the subject of this particular media circus is not the same thing as the Valerie Plame "outing." It's being reported as such by those who didn't bother to learn what they're talking about, but they really are two different things.
