| Duellist USA Changes Rick Shellhouse announced on Monday that he would no longer be supporting the Duellist brand of fencing equipment as of April 30, 2006.
Since that announcement, the ownership of Duellist has redirected the DuellistUSA.com domain name back to the main Duellist.com web site which has left existing customers in a lurch.
Many of you may have outstanding orders or service issues with Duellist USA, but now you cannot get to the "old" site to track your orders or view order status.
If you have outstanding business with an existing order or return, please contact Rick via his "Duellist USA" ID on Fencing.Net via Private Message. Rick is working to get all outstanding orders and service issues resolved by the time he hands everything over to Duellist UK management as of April 30.

| Duellist USA: What happened? If you read the announcement sticky on the top of this forum you will see that there are some major changes happening within the Duellist company. Does anyone know the official response as to why the US vendor of Duellist is falling out? Is it falling out? I could be mistaken. Their equipment was top notch stuff in my opinion. I'd hate to see them go

| The official response that I have heard is that they are under contract to the end of the month and there is no comment. |

| My understanding is that he is no longer going to be dealing with the duelist name but he waas under contract so he has given duelist a 30 day notice.
I bet we'll see a brand new line of products appearing when this is all said and done. Wonder what Rick will be calling his new store at that point? I personally cannot wait to see what rick does; he has always stood for high quality equipment so what-ever he has doen so I'm sure his new equipment will be BETTER than before without the supply problmes he has had to get duelist to send him stuff when he needs it.
Rick I wish you good luck in your new endevear what-ever that may be. looking forward to recievving your new catalog and supporting your final set-up. |

| Hm.... I was hoping to order my next set of knickers from there. Guess I'll have to wait. Speaking of waiting, wasn't there supposed to be a calendar or somethign?

| Because California and New Jersey are sufficiently far apart that they're not really in the same market. If you were the owner of Swedish Fencing Shop, would you worry about competition from Bulgarian Fencing Supply?
In addition, as relatively small vendors, it's in both their interest to promote "your local fencing vendor", and claim the local traffic, rather than worry about which of them is doing better. Their real competition are the big companies, Blue Gauntlet, Blade Etc, and so forth. |

| Cadet/Junior Uniforms Production of cadet and junior uniforms for World Championships were badly botched....don't know the full story, but seems that there is plenty of blame to go around in all Duelist related representatives. |

The vast majority of my sales occur less than 200 miles away. Rick is a competitor only in the sense that we both sell gear for the same sport.
My only real local competition is Fencing Post and Fending Dude, but Post doesn;t go the small local events like I do, and Dude hasn't gone to a local to sell for a couple of years, so I've pretty much got that niche locked up.
As for what Rick was saying....he told me whatwas going on between him and Duellist UK...I'm just not free to talk about it.
Besides, we're not selling in a vaccum here...there aren't really that many vendors, and we have to help each other out to a certain extent. Post has been my own prime vendor since the beginning...I can't buy Uhlmann directly as a reseller because Post is the importer on the west coast....same for Negrini and American Fencers. |

| Well, Crap.
I was just going to order more stuff from them, too. Are there any other duellist regulars out there that may wnat to consolidate orders from the UK to save shipping? I live in Wisconsin so any WI/IL fencers could consolidate and distribute orders at events in the area i.e. Beloit, IFC, CAAFC, Caliburn, WFA etc. Food for thought...

| Duellist USA where is my order All I know is that I placed an order on 24 April (there was no notice at that time of the end of Duellist as we know it) and I have posted three e-mails since reading about it here on the forum and have had no response even though I was charged for the items. I have had to file a buyer dispute with paypal (with whom fortunately I used my credit card) and just hope that I get money back someday. |

| I had an outstanding account with Duellist USA when they closed. I was worried about getting my money back, too. I emailed them and left a post on this site, and THEY called ME back in one day and refunded my money including shipping and everything and credited my account immediately.
They seemed to be working hard to make good on their commitments. I imagine that would continue. Email or PM them. Good luck. |
