    AAAAAARRRRGGGHHHH

Sacrilege! The CEO of that american TV station deserves to be sent to hell for this! Or at least Torquay, where he can sample the exquisite torture of bad service, sullen staff and bland (yet extremely funny) racial stereotypes!

I believe that they tried to remake Men Behaving Badly as well - damn these corporate idiots!

This "remake" idea is pretty weird when you consider that the context is what makes most of these comedies funny. Americans make some of the funniest comedies around (lets not include friends - it sucks). Us Brits have tried remaking ameican comedies as well and when you remove he context it doesn't work (think Golden Girls set in Brighton - UUUURRRRRGGHH anyone who's been to Brighton knows how unfunny the place is). Why can't cynical TV execs just leave good TV show s alone.

Good quote there Staubitz - HPL is one of my favourite american authors.

The Fawlty Towers american version was already tried, I think about 1999. It was called Payne and starred John Larroquette It sucked.
