You're sitting in the hotel room during a REAL vacation (not that there's many of those anymore!) and suddenly think "Now what event am I fencing tomorrow?"
(For the college folk) You check a fencing web site (f.net, askfred.net, usfencing.org, etc) as many times (a day) as you check Facebook.
There's a $2.00 long distance charge on your phone bill - every month - because you had to fax a tournament entry to Colorado Springs.
You remember events (even important non-fencing ones) happening in relation to the dates of fencing tournaments, such as "yeah, my sister got married after I got back from the Houston NAC." |

You scheduled your wedding around the USFA calendar, since you knew your family would be there whenever you scheduled it, but picking a NAC weekend would wipe out half the guest list. |

It's amazing how painful this can be.
True story.

You no longer think of things as being x number of feet away from you but rather as y number of tempos, or even better the only two distances you can think of are in distance and out of distance.

| Okay, okay, I'll stop with the light blue. Will dark blue/navy be better? Anyway, I'm just happy that people actually read my posts.
EDIT: Oh, and thank you for your compliment D+F+P

| You haven't gone away on a holiday for years and the only time you do go away is for fencing and the sites you see when on said holiday are: fencing halls, fencing equipment shops or even randomly walking down the road a shop selling swords.
Fencers can never resist any sword.
Or on the rare time that you go out with non-fencing friends (because you havent seen them for months and months) you cant do anything fun like rollerblading or drinking or both because you have a competition the next day and dont want to be hungover or injured.

You realize a compliment from DFP is like a compliment from a caveman Nazi.
