Physical chess (and regyoolar chess) :) Hi gang, been awhile since I've posted. I was going to post this in Water Cooler, but for some reason it felt appropriate to post it here. I thought this was funny, especially when you consider the constant debate over "bent-arm" attacks and flicks and such--it appears that fencing is not the only sport susceptible to such interpretations, and I have a feeling a few of you play the game.
and so, without further ado: http://forums.about.com/n/pfx/forum....F=y&msg=2737.1
feel free to move the post, just thought i'd share
Good fencing to you! -

We really shouldn't compare ourselves to chess players. It definately is not the highest standard. Chess in the world isn't exactly in the best state of being.
The amount of chess players in the States is definately declining, and the Us Chess Federation is perhaps one of the most corrupt "Sports" organizations around. The position of World Champion is completely unclear as is it is quite often with one side not wanting to supply however many million dollars it is to play the world champion, but going on to win major tournaments. Rules in chess are very rarely up to interpretation, and are usualy quite clear. I am not familiar with FIDE rules, but am with those of the USCF (being a tournament manager online, and at one point applying to become a tournament director). The fact that everyone is constantly drawing is a tad bit depressing.
I'm done with my chess playing days. The answer is always definate, only one move that should be done, unlike fencing. Quite agravating. Similar Threads -
