| common epee problem? After rewiring some epees the other day i noticed that hits on the bell of one of them cause a valid target light to go on. Is this common? Is this a simple problem with a simple solution that I am missing?

| Make sure there is no rust or anything on the guard. Check to make sure that the socket is in contact with the guard. Take an ohm-meter, attach one lead to the "C" line of the socket (the one furthest from the middle, without the wire attached) and run the other lead around the surface of the guard. If the weapon is working properly you should have resitence <1 ohm.

| Check the C socket see if the metal tab is in place as well. The tab should be connect to the socket and underneath the metal post.

| Also make sure you didn't accidently strip any of the wires where they go between the grip and the bellguard, this has caused a problem for me a couple of times. |

| That shouldn't cause a touch to register on the guard. Contact between the opponent's (is it A or B?) line and your C line should ground out. |

| But presumably one is "hot" (has the DC current sent down it) and the other is the one the box "listens" to. So (if A were the hot one) A-C would ground out at the box, and B-C wouldn't be noticable by the box. Or vice versa. |

| The whole weapon gets its ground though the socket if he is using a leon paul he might need to tighten the C lead if that socket is loose it can cause interment problems
