On the bench

What? "What's this 'on the Bench' thing?", you say?

"Bench" is a term we consultants use to describe the state you are in if you do not have clients and are not billing any time.

So... I am on the bench right now... no clients... no work... no billable time... which can also mean... no bonus... CRAP!

Sorry folks... just venting.

Yep... spent that last two days calling old clients to see if they want to have a new module or two implemented on their current systems. Even at the special summer rate of $135/hour (we normally chart $180 - $200 per hour), no one's biting.

I only wish I had the authority to go out and look for new business... but then, I'd be stepping on Sales' toes (their not bringing that much in either).

Oh well, at least I get a paycheck every two weeks.

Rick.. yup, there myself at the moment. I'll be taking some classes next week (winrunner/testdirector) then I'll go hunting again.
