| Private Messages OK, maybe I missed it, but how do we check our PM's now with this new format? I thought I'd read somewhere that it was through our profile, but I can't seem to find it.
Can anyone help me out? |

| Nonetheless, I still think it's a large backwards step in useability from the previous layout, where you saw whether or not you had new P.M.s at the bottom of the main forums page, rather than having to go into your profile. Craig (if you're reading), what was the rationale behind the change?

| I agree, Dave.
Craig, if it wasn't broke, why'd you try to fix it? On behalf of the fencing.net community, can we have the old way back? |

| OK, I've got it now. It wasn't that difficult! But, as I said, I liked the old way better. Guess I'm one of those folks who's resistant to change if it makes me work harder! |

| Hey everyone I have a question. What if your local fencing club site doesn't work, and it wont let you e-mail them? Besides calling them is there any other way to get to the site?

| You can set up your profile to get an e-mail when you get a private message so you don't have to jump through a bunch of hoops to check to see if you have any new private messages. |

| Sabreuse - this is true and very handy. However, you have to go into this site if you want to reply to the private message, which isn't really that much of an inconvenience since most of check this site pretty regularly anyway, right?
Craig - "Cheers!" to the new format!

| I upgraded this board to a newer version of the software that is much kinder to the web server. They have the private message function incorporated into it, but haven't gotten the modification developed to put the private message notification back to the front page like before and I've been too busy with other stuff to go into the various scripts to figure the hack myself.
There should be some modifications coming up in the next month or so that will improve the functionality.
Cheers,
Craig |
