I have the same problem. At the school I used to go to, there were pool tables in the dorm lobby, so I played a fair amount, and I'd like to think I got fairly decent at it. But nowadays, on the rare occasions that I go shoot some pool, I just can't get some of those shots off anymore. I even used to be able to do somewhat trick shots, angling the ball off of the other side into the pocket. Used to be able to do it about half the time, nowadays I have a better chance of getting it into a pocket I WASN'T aiming for than sinking it in the one I was

I think you meant "smoking" while taking the test.

And yes, there have been several studies that find that, if one studies while under the influence of a drug -- be it nicotine, alcohol, pot, caffeine or whatever -- and one takes a test while not under the influence of that drug, then one does very poorly. If one studies under the influence, and takes the test under the same influence, then one does okay. But the best results are still to study not under the influence, and then take the test not under the influence.

I always used to have a large cuppa joe before exams, for that reason.

You're right, that's what I meant. While I don't smoke anymore (I want women and I want to have stamina for fencing), I bend the rules during finals week. After 2 or 3 hours of straight studying, a Red Bull and a cigarette do wonders.

On to the question at hand...

I prefer billiards, having bad experiences sailing through the air during inebriated games of crud with people much bigger then I.
