| Try gluing the wire down first as it is an easier solution.
Bend the epee so that it is bent like it would be bent if you had a firm touch on your opponent. Get some Fletch tite platinum from a sporting goods store or an archery supply store, and use a very small amount to tack down the wire. The glue will dry in about a minute and you should be good to use your new epee.

| one more question, if to rewire the blade using Fletch Tite, should the glue be applied under or on the top of the wire or both side? |

| Probably bluing over the top. Just make sure you don't leave any lumps that could catch otu opponwnt's point.
before gluing, if you are able to use an Xacto blade to clean any of the prior glue on the blade under the wire, do so....it'll make a better bond. |

| For Foil, glue then pull the wire down through the glue. To be sure, glue again after the first coat dries.
For Epee, stretch the wire then glue. Reglue after the first dries.

I put down a layer of glue before I lay the wire. (I also put a little tension into the wire , but that's a different subject) Then I apply another layer on top of the wire.
Note: that's the way I was taught, and it has served me well over the years. I haven't performed any experiments to figure out which might be better. |

| If the wire is pulled up for like 2 inches take a dremel with a cut-off wheel and really scrape up the metal and use an xacto to slightly scrape the underside of the wire to remove any dust or anything else that could make a bad connection. Then apply glue to the channel and bend the blade down and apply glue to the top of the wire to allow good tie-in with the blade. |
