| Contour fit Masks from Leon Paul are covered by U.S. Patents It has been reported to us that some re-sellers are selling Foreign/Chinese copies of the Leon Paul Contour fit masks. Leon Paul have various U.S. Patents on the contour fit system, exchange masks, epee blades, and design rights to other equipment which we will defend in the U.S. courts. So if any one has purchased such an item in the last month I would like to know. Barry Paul. M.D. Leon Paul. |

This is why I always have had a faint regret about not getting into patent law - easiest money you'll ever make.

| I know a fencer in LA that is a patent lawyer. Not sure what kind of patents he specializes in, but that's what he does. Drives a Porsche too, so yeah must be good money.

| Well, I guess it was only a matter of time before someone started selling chinese copies of the LP mask innovations. They are just to cool not to try and steal for some folks. I wish you the best of luck with defending your patents Barry. I have been around the patent law scene a bit so I would not hope for much on the Chinese end. From what I have scene/dealt with, a good chunk of their economy is based on theft and deception. Keep in mind that most factories in china turning out fake copies of this or that are state run. Hopefully you will have more luck dealing with the us distributors of those products.

| I second C'Ville's advice -- go after the distributors. Although doing a quick survey of websites, I don't see any Contour Fit counterfeits. |

Not to make light of the situation at all. Just of Brits in general! Seriously, if you see anyone wearing a copy of the LP mask first politely ask them where they got there spiffy mask, and once you have an answer to give to Barry or Alex, unload into the sorry SOB wearing one about their effective stealing from one of the truly innovative fencing vendors out there. Sure, they might not have known that the mask they got was made off of "stolen" intelectual property/patented designs, but after a few people get ripped up for it they word will get around and hopefully get back to the shyster vendors selling the copies in the US...

| I have the notion I saw some Contour Fit systems on Blade masks, but they may have been purchased or something from LP.
