Training in New York Hello,
I am looking to get back in to the sport of fencing after a few years off. I was wondering what you all can tell me about the facilities available in New York? I am specifically wondering about the following four...
Fencers Club
Metropolis Fencing
Brooklyn Fencing
New Amsterdam Fencing Academy
I am just curious as to what experiences people have had with these places. How are the lessons? Is the pricing worth it? Recommendations? That sort of thing. Thanks for the help

Array Dude, Metropolis is no more. Ancient history.
For the current clubs - what weapon do you fence?
Fencers Club is pricey and crowded - also long waiting list from what I hear.
New Amsterdam seems to be doing mostly epee.
Brooklyn is mostly foil.
You should visit all three and check it out. If you live up north (or NJ or have a car...) you might want to check out Fencing Academy of Westchester also.
Good luck. -
New Amsterdam Fencing Academy has all three weapons. Come by and check us out. We are reasonable priced and the training is very good.
