If you're looking for something local to SF, then you can try "Escrime Line International" which is affiliated with a club in Menlo Park (EMFC).

I'm not saying you're wrong, but they actually call the company "StM" themselves.

I don't believe so. I think the forge name is/used to be St. Martin/Maarten... though I don't think they advertise with that name anymore.

I have a Ukrainian coach. He refers to the company as "Stoy****** and Mak******" ( I apologize for being so inept in remembering and spelling the Ukrainian names properly)

Yes, they refer to themselves on their own web site as "StM".

I am also inept in the rules for URL's, but is an ampersand a symbol that can be used in a URL?

So the name of the company contains an ampersand, while at the same time, they refer to themselves as StM.

Spelling Ukrainian names properly would require the use of Cyrillic, however looking under the *s you typed, I'll guess the transliterated spelling of the second name is "Makarushenko".

Actually it can, if it is properly escaped:

RFC 2396

Of course, leave it to a standard and it will never be completely applied...

I believe Zilvermurfen has the right answer, if fencerbill asked the right question. While an ampersand can be used in a URL/URI/URN, an ampersand character cannot be registered as part of a domain name. While a domain name is often part of a URL/URI/URN, domain names have stricter requirements even under the IDN (Internationalized Domain Name) RFCs.

For example, you can't register "S&M-fencing.com" because of the ampersand character even with registrars that handle IDN registrations. Oddly, there are some registrars that have adopted something called "name prep 8" that will allow registering names such as: s†m.nu or s♡m.nu but even those registrars don't permit the use of an ampersand & in a domain name.

btw, the reason for my guess that the M in SM stands for Makarushenko:

Domain Name: STM-FENCING.COM

Registrant:
Andrey Makarushenko
Danilevskogo str., 33 ap.38
Kharkov, UA 61001
UA

No idea on the "S" though.

Give us a call 877-452-8024 or drop an email to use (sales at ...) and we can look if there is a specific color/blade combo that you want.
