| The one I have seen most running around in a sports bra at fencing tournaments is Robin Pernice, followed distantly by Peach. But I am too elderly to notice such things.

| This is a great discussion, I really think it's important to compare all these sports bras, their materials, how they fit, and all that. In fact, if you ladies see me out there at a tournament please feel free to come up to me and show me your sports bras. I'll gladly give you my opinion on them... errr, I mean, it. |

| I'm not sure, but I believe that this website may be of use to some of the women on this board. http://www.shockabsorber.co.uk/bounceometer/shock.html
NOTE: This is a serious (as far as I know) site advertising a new type of sports bra. I can assure everyone on this board that I have checked it thoroughly to ensure it is suitable for this discussion. |

| It isn't? It looks fairly innocuous to me. Anyway; as Poulet says; if they are fairly strict about 'boobs' at work then don't look.
In case anyone has any doubts ... this really is a site advertising a new sprorts bra. |

| As much as you men are enjoying the site.... It is brilliant advertising. I think targets most sports-minded women and makes them not only buy a new bra (or 2 or 3) but it makes them want to buy their bra.

Personally (not being very 'top heavy') I use a couple of sports bras from 'Stay In Place' and Swegmark (both swedish brands).

| Depends how much you bounce.
I have different sports bras for different activities. Cycling uses a much less supportive one than running & fencing do.
I tend to bounce a lot and I'm um, larger, than many. So, I go for absolute maximum support in fencing. I've been using primarily Champion's maximum support bras. Although they keep changing the exact design. Which is really annoying. You find something that works. And you buy plenty for 2+ years of wear. And then they wear out & you can't find the same thing to replace it.
This is the closest I can find at the moment: Dick's Sporting Goods Link
For less intensive sports I use Nike's line of dry wick. Occasionally one makes it into fencing practice (gotta wash or buy more), but I can feel the difference.
Although, thinking of sports bras reminds me of the time I was at a track meet back in high school. There was a woman, a very fast runner, who was fairly well-endowed, running the 400m without a sports bra. All of us not in the event noticed and we're rather "that's gotta hurt" since the chest was moving probably 8" up and down with every stride.
The guys had a different reaction. |

I'm afraid some of us now have lingering doubts about your credibility.

Besides, I can't believe that even you really want to see that. Unless you're into wattles, underarm fat or "man-boobs" or something. |

If Fencergrl were to gaze upon my "man parts" I believe she may very well lose control and attempt to jump me on the spot... hence the restraint on my part from posting the links she is asking (or is it aching?) for. Certain styles and types of bras offer different levels of support. Size relates to the type of support required and the style of bra that works best. I would more likely take the advice from a woman who’s breasts are a similar size to mine than someone who is on the other end of the spectrum, as we need different products.
My second point is subjective. Your tone sounds like you feel discussing breasts (in a discussion about sportsbras no less!) is somehow inappropriate. I find this offensive. I feel it implies that breasts are nothing more than something to be sexualized and should be hidden and not discussed.
If I am wrong, please explain you position as I am quite surprised you have this attitude, as mostly I enjoy your posts. Quote: |
