Today’s Letter: A Reader in India Says the West Is Dead

Your concern for your white brothers and sisters seems to be warranted.

First, the defeated and desperate Islamic peoples are bleeding your resources in a seemingly endless war of terror, and guerilla wars your army cannot win.

Second, the amount of scientists and engineers from China and

India is so crushing and dominating it seems that in fifty years you will not be able to withstand it. It’s like ten Japans into one.

Third, the Soviet Union as bad as it was, was a white power that still propagated the illusion of white supremacy. Now that it has fallen, the world will witness something it hasn’t in three centuries.

The undisputed superpower of the earth will be China. With China’s plan to have the ten greatest universities on earth and its blistering 10% economic growth, it can achieve this.

Behind China will be India. What the world will witness is a non-white superpower. If India is second, the whities won’t even be on the map.

And consider that the third place USA will be, by 2050, more than half Latino and black.

In the 2050 US, Asian Indians and Chinese will dominate your upper echelons financially and academically, and blacks would dominate sport and entertainment. Also Jewish people would continue their dominance.

All white and non-white kids will wake up every day in a world where no white country is even close to power. Their psyche will be tremendously affected.

The boost to the Asians will be enormous and the morale of the whites will shrink to non-existence.

The old whites will sit on the fence and say, “I remember when whites ruled,” and the Chinese and Indian men will laugh and ask, “When was this?”

Well don’t worry. You had your time. I am I writing this from my mansion in India.

I got a job from some American who was incredibly ignorant and miserably inadequate at accounting.

I have no respect for Americans anymore. What was once a great culture built on learning and decency has nothing but a bunch of ignorant immoral morons. Such is your fate.

Maybe your grandson can apply for immigration to China one day...or maybe the Chinese will remember how you guys let us in.

So? It sounds like they're saying it as a bad thing. Cultures rise and fall, who cares? It's how things go. Nothing lasts forever. The Spanish used to rule one of the largest and most powerful empires in the world, do you hear anyone crying about them? Well I guess I do, but that's just cuz I feel sorry for them =P

Eh? Jews are caucasians, aka whites. Culturally distinct, yes, but racially the same.

Asian people woke up every day in a world where no asian country was even close to power, yet now look at them. It just encourages them to try harder.

Again, this could be easily reversed and applied to the world, maybe not so much today anymore, but definitely to the world in, say, 1950.

I think this guy is jumping the gun a bit about America, and westerners in general, losing their dominance. Things APPEAR to be pointing that way, but it most certainly doesn't have to be that way. Western society may seem to be at the beginnings of a long decline, but Han China appeared the same at around the birth of Christ, and yet they were able to regroup and continue for another 200 some-odd years.

I may be Japanese by blood, but I'm an American by birth, and there's nothing I can do to change either of those facts. So, in a way I'm torn between the Eastern and Western worlds, but I'll certainly shed a tear if someday, during my lifetime, American should come to ruin. China and India may become economically dominant eventually, and Asian culture may begin to infiltrate the West in the same way that American culture is infiltrating the East (interesting fact - India is the only country in which public opinion of the US went UP after we invaded Iraq. They love us there, from what I understand. And why not? We give them all their jobs ), But, I think China will always be dominated by Chinese and Chinese culture, as will India by Indians, and America by Americans. Heathen barbarian hordes invaded Europe after the fall of Rome, yet Europe is still very much European. Changed, certainly, but in many ways still the same. I honestly don't think there's that much to fear from globalisation and whatnot; sure, China and India will have their day in the sun, but I think America and Europe have just as much potential as they. They just happened to catch an updraft while we're just trying to stay in the air.

What generation American Japanese are you?

Depends on how you look at it, actually. Nissei (first generation born in ameria) on my dad's side, yonsei (third generation born in ameria) on my mom's side. Unlike most nissei, I speak hardly any japanese (because my mom doesn't), but I think I've been exposed to more japanese culture than a normal yonsei. I mean, generally, by the time an immigrant family gets to the third generatiorn born in a country, they're virtually completely assimilated into the culture, but I've noticed I still have quite a few Japanese quirks in me. I think I attribute some of them go genetics, though, since I am full-blooded Japanese. I've definitely inherited that asian pride that a lot of us have (I honestly still don't understand why I get so worked up when people ask me if I'm Korean or Chinese. Just typing that irked me), but I'm actually starting to develop a bit of a pan-asian philosophy.

I'm Black. So you don't really speak Japanese but you look Japanese. Ok. To an Oriental, you be considered a form of interference I assume

"Interference"? I don't quite follow. And I don't actually all that Japanese, being that my family is from the southern tip of Kyushu, which is rather far away from the main island, and Tokyo especially, so my family looks... I bit different than a "standard" Japanese, I guess you could say. I don't categorize well, other than to simply say I'm Asian-American. Clearly not a "real" Asian, but certainly different from a "standard" WASPy American. I'd almost call myself a mut if I weren't pure Japanese.

I have a few Oriental friends and I have lived in the Orient for a few months. My Oriental friends told me that the 2 most annoying interferences to the continuation and flow of their culture are the Filipinos and the American-Asians. The Filipinos because they are not of Oriental culture but pretend to be. Now that I can understand since it is wrong to take credit for things that have nothing to do with you. But I told my Oriental friends not to be annoyed the Filipinos since they wont be able to sustain such a lie. 5 thousand years of civilization is a lot of responsibility for a people who have only recently become human. As for the American-Asians, it's because they are an insult to the heritage or something like that.

I'm a black from the US of A and I do not want to be called African-American or Afro-American. Such long and tedious titles.
