    Storing Club weapons

We have about a 2'x2'x5' space in a locker to store our weapons. As of now we have a cardboard box that we stick the bells into and let the tips stick out of the top. You can imagine what kind of mess that makes. I was wondering if anyone had any better suggestions on how to utilize the small space we have. Thanks.

Is it just for your weapons? How many and what kind? Where is the 5' dimension, height? We have a plywood sheet parallel to the ground with a hole for each weapon. And then a trap door suspended over the top so we can put more stuff over it. I don't know how well this would work in your situation though.

I'd hazard to guess that we have about 15 weapons. A mix of foils, epee, and sabres, but mostly foils. The 5' dimension is height. I've seen the plywood with holes drilled in it, but that would be way too big for our given space.

well just head to lowes or home depot and get them to cut you a bit of ply to size - are you allowed to fasten things to the walls? If not then some legs could be added to keep it at the right height.
    au revoir

Have you considered mounting a piece of ventilated shelving to the wall about 38 inches off the floor and simply dropping the blades between the individual rods? A two-foot long section of 16-inch wardrobe shelving from Home Depot or Lowe's should be large enough to accomodate at 15 weapons - more if you overlap the guards.

Alot of places like Home Depot have wire shelving stuff--I don't know what it's called. Basically, it's just a shelf made of evenly spaced wires. Often, they come with legs. You can put the blades down through the holes, and the bellguards stop them from dropping to the floor. It's pretty cheap, too, I think.

Another suggestion: it's the guards that take up most of the space. A metal grid (shelving from Home Depot or some such hardware store) hung on the wall so it sticks out at an angle. Top attached to the wall, bottom either just allowed to stick out or braced so it's standing out. Drop the blades point first into it so they hang down. The angle would allow you to kind of stack them on top of each other .

I've seen something similar but allows vertical stacking/ spacing of the weapons.

Ever been in a bar and seen how the store wine glasses by sliding the bases between 2 rods? Same idea..

Something like this, but not as many dowels.. http://www.stacksandstacks.com/html/...ss-storage.htm

Row of dowels with sets of 2 spaced about an inch apart. Blades slide through the gap between the dowels, and guards keep them from falling. Then another row of matched dowels about 6" above that, offset. So you can put another set of weapons there. And above that, another 6" or so, another row of offset pairs of dowels...

I'd worry about dowels being strong enough, but the concept is valid.
