A big thing on any lame and sabre masks. Whenever possible keep them seperate from your other gear. Keep them dry and your lame hanging. Sweat is nasty at creating dead spots.

I ended up getting the Uhlmann 350N uniform and spent the money I saved on an Uhlmann BF replacement blade for my existing sabre and also bought a new electric sabre with Uhlmann BF blade to use as a spare.

Next on the list is a good quality mask and lame when the ones I already have come close to kicking the bucket.

Thanks everyone for your input!

I would suggest you look at the Saber X-change mask which Leon Paul offers. It's 1600N and one of the coolest designs I've seen in a while. I personally like it alot for two major reasons. 1) the mesh is solid like all of the Leon Paul masks I've ever tested and 2) small replaceable bib. You'll find that with weekly practice that some people's masks get very torn up especally in the check areas. Leon Paul replaced thoses areas with mesh. I got mine for about $219 shipped. I highly recommend all Leon Paul masks in general, because in my experience they appear to have the best metal mesh. All this, and I'm not getting paid as an endorser.

If you buy the X-Change, get a spare bib to go with it. Otherwise you'll find yourself at some tournament where the bib doesn't pass conductivity, and you'll need to buy a new mask to compete if you can't buy a new bib (which most vendors don't carry) right then and there.
