Array Should be a good event I know a few people from our diviison going.
good luck all and have fun! -
Old Man Fencing As some of you know, my middle daughter Melissa is a talented young saber fencer [pride]. This of course pleases me no end as she enters her teenage, dating years. Always good to have a daughter who is good with a knife when surrounded by a sea of young men.
Anyway, as the designated driver for this activity, I was hanging around the fencing club and got roped into a beginning saber class. [Note: My college experience in foil fencing has been worthless, if the 24 years "break" from fencing wasn't enough. Saber is totally different.] From there I was further conned into the Recreational class, and now I have been registered for my second tournament since coming out of retirement; my first was 2 weeks ago at the Spring Slash.
Myself on one other 40-plus fencer that I know of are planning on fighting desperately to avoid last place. Your prayers are appreciated. -

Array Good luck, teesaa! Don't worry about how you place, just head out and have a great time (and maybe kick just the smallest amount of ass.) "If I were ever to challenge you to a duel, your best bet would be battle axes in a very dark basement." Misquoted from The Prisoner

Array Everyone did a great job, and as far as I know, had a clockwork tournament. I personally got a nice lovely hattrick from our own head referee and magician oso97, since I was awarded the priviledge (sp?) of directing ALL 3 gold medal bouts in Epee (men's, women's, and Y12/14 mixed).
Thanks and applause to the organizers, who made the event pretty close to fabulous! Sabre chicks are cutting edge -
